Wait, what do you make?

At work…
I help designers, developers, and creators make the very best apps, games, and experiences they can for  platforms (including designing great experiences for this thing).

Previously, I designed content and experiences for Apple’s developer relations team: I led content direction for the Apple Developer app, lent my voice (and Memoji) to WWDC video recaps for a few years, helped create experiential moments for developer sessions, helped design a few fun experiences for WWDC, and too much other fun miscellany to recount.

In writing…
I used to help run a website helping explore the humanity behind technology. (And record the occasional silly video.)
I wrote about my grandfather and Nova Scotia and being “from away.”
I can't stop writing songs (mostly for my own amusement).

On the air…
I’ve directed (and acted in) radio plays, audio tours, and other things.
I used to podcast pretty frequently about technology for a bunch of different places… and geek out about film and TV, of course.

On the stage and screen…
I used to make short films (sometimes with friends).
I like helping create interactive stories (for fun and for friends).
I like playing with masks, movement, and introducing national park attendees to stock Commedia dell’Arte characters.
I shot and edited a lot with iPhone, including this reel from the 2017 WFTDA Roller Derby World Championships.
I even did a brief stint as a correspondent for the Museum of Science helping folks understand more about the human brain.
(I like playing around with animation — poorly.)

On wheels…
I found new and creative ways not to injure myself playing roller derby at its highest levels, including with Montreal and Team Canada.
I’ve also coached internationally, made a number of videos teaching people how to skate, and wrote about strategic techniques in the sport.
Now, I coach the California Derby Galaxy Supernovas coalition program and generally try to have fun doing silly things on roller skates whenever possible.

Basically…
Creative things! I make them.
